I took a few more photos for my final this weekend. I tried to show movement and distortion through long exposures. I haven’t edit them at all yet, I just wanted to see what everyone thinks. Thanks!

  1. Christiana - interesting start!
My immediate response is that I am seeing them in a sequence and not as individual images.
In all honesty this may be because they are very reminiscent of some of my experiments with dance and movement and film making from grad school. Looking forward and excited to see the work images this week!

I have always been fascinated with photographing movement - many challenges and great satisfaction. I especially like movement with being lit from inside, another one of my lifelong, on going projects...
Keep it going! WANT to SEE MORE!!

  2. Wow... You've generated some very painterly photographs. Try using more flash to really sculpt and to add depth to your photographs. The lower two pop out the most and i believe it's because the light gives the figure real dimension, almost like they are dancing spirits. I wish i could see the images larger.... Great start!

  3. I agree with Christian that the lower two pop out the most. I think part of it might be because the background isn't all one color like the top three are. I definitely like to see these larger.

  4. The boys have very good suggestions and comments.
    SCULPT with light.
paint with light - use flashlights and or strobes.
be sure to over expose a little so you can pull what you need from the file.

you all are rockin' and smokin'...:)
